Talantbek Sapitov
Academic Director
Mr. Sapitov has been a professional educator for 17 years and has had the unique experience of being a student, a teacher, a counsellor, a school parent, and a school leader in local and international school settings. For the past seven years, Mr. Sapitov has furthered his counselling experience by serving as a mentor and an academic advisor to over 200 students. So far, he has students studying at prestigious universities such as McGill, University of Toronto, University of British Columbia, New York University, Simon Fraser University, Pennsylvania State University, Groningen University, PolyU and City University of Hong Kong. Mr. Sapitov is excited about helping OIS strengthen its position as the only university preparatory school in Bishkek offering the A Levels program.
Azamat Rakhmanov
Head of Pastoral Care
Mr. Rakhmanov joined OIS in summer 2022 as Head of Pastoral Care . Previously he worked as a Chineses language and home teacher at an international school in Bishkek. Originally from Kyrgyzstan, he holds a Master's degree in Chinese Language & Literature. An advocate for active learning, he is dedicated to equity, closing the achievement gap, celebrating diversity, and promoting literacy across the curriculum. He is a passionate, student-centred educator continually seeking to improve learning and school culture. In his spare time, you can usually find him on a football pitch playing football with students.
Aizirek Kerimbek
Head of Counselling
Ms. Kerimbek is a certified Psychologist (BA in Psychological Counselling, International Ala-Too University) and practices school counselling. She has conducted more than 100+ workshops, master classes, seminars, diagnostic tests, research papers, over 600+individual and group psychological therapy sessions. Ms.Kerimbek is a specialist in overcoming the relationship between personality traits and academic achievement of the students.She is excited to work with all of the students and families at OIS and looks forward to meeting all of the students and their parents.
Sangmin Lee
PD Leader, Secondary School
Mr. Lee was born in Canada, grew up in South Korea completing his secondary education at an international school. He then returned to Canada to study International Business at Carleton University followed by a degree in Education at Queen’s University. Since then he has had the opportunity to teach in Mongolia and Malaysia for eight years. He enjoys photography, cats and trying new food. Mr. Lee hopes to create a learning environment where students are happy, engaged and want to come to school. Mr. Lee joined the teaching profession to give back and provide opportunities for students and to support them to be the best that they can be.
Nor Rashidah
PD Leader, Primary School
Ms. Nora is very excited to get to know all of the students at OIS and meet her students in the classroom for the coming academic year. She grew up in the suburb of Seremban, Malaysia and graduated with a Bachelor's in Education from University Tun Abdul Razak, Malaysia in 2015. She has taught year 3, 4 and 6 in her 7 years of teaching. She enjoys teaching the upper primary students because the students are so much fun and show a great love for learning. When she is not working, she loves spending time with three of her adorable cats.
